universiTAS HALU OLEO

Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO), founded in 1964 as an affiliate of Hasanuddin University in Makassar, gained autonomy in 1981 through Presidential Decree No. 37, officially commemorated by Prof. Dr. Doddy Achdiat Tisna Amidjaja. Initially, it comprised four faculties—Education, Economics, Social and Political Sciences, and Agriculture—and was located on a 7-hectare campus now known as Kemaraya. Over time, UHO has become a vital national institution, contributing to Indonesia’s human resource development, particularly in coastal, marine, and rural sectors, while promoting innovation in education, research, and community service. Its organizational structure is led by the Rector, supported by four Vice Rectors, two institutes, 14 Deans, a Graduate Studies Director, and seven Technical Service Units, including the Library, Language Center, Botanical Garden, Integrated Laboratory, IT Center, Archives, and Entrepreneurship & Career Development Unit.
INSTITUTION'S VISION AND MISSION

To become a world-class university in the management and development of coastal, marine, and rural areas by 2045.
